Who's kicking ass and taking names? Placeblogger's first Top 10 list of the best placeblogs in the nation:
None of these blogs cover where you live? Try the Placeblogger directory.
What's the justification for placement here?
And how in God's green earth is ChiTown on this list? AND how is placed above MNSpeak and all these other sites that are really pulling together a professional-looking, functioning community site. My 13 year old could make a better site than ChiTown. It's filled with wire copy and randomness. There's no community there.
Thumbs down to unjustified, random lists.
Nope, I grew up in Woburn, Massachusetts, and I now live in Watertown, MA, where I run a local site called H2otown. Here's my LinkedIn profile.
I also think there should be a explanation of why these are the top 10. What makes them so great? How did you figure out these were the top 10 in America. Top 10 lists are always better to read when there is a reason behind them. Just a tip! :)
How were the top ten placeblogs chosen? What makes them so unique, and how can I improve my placeblog?

Tampa. It's your community.
Stoke the flames at Sticks of Fire
Know and love it! Here's Redbank Green's listing in the Placeblogger directory. Nominate it for our Placebloggies later this year, willya?
In broad strokes what criteria were used?
Of course I think my own site http://nocnews.blogspot.com/ has done rather well based on both audience and impact. It seems most of these are from large population areas.
My site has actually led to a change in the way the local borough conducts business and the School District has come to post information instead of requiring people to visit the office to read it.
The site also recently hosted a program to help residents learn how to run for public office.
These positive contributions, coupled with a lack of negative and derogatory comments must be worth something;-)
Look forward to learning more about how the little guy or girl can make the top 10.
Best wishes
