After calling once a month every month since September, my building finally made it to the top of the list for tree trimming this week. People in my building who have lived here for much longer than me were negative about the possibility that the city would actually respond to a request. If you want your trees trimmed in front of your property, call 311 and then persevere every month. You might even try calling our alderman,Bernie Stone.

They did a great job of trimming the dead branches. There must be some way of distinguishing dead branches from live ones even in the dead of winter. Winter is a great time for tree trimming--all the sap is in the roots.

Call 311 if you want to get your trees ready for spring growth spurts. It will also minimize dead branches falling on cars in high winds and rain!
